Fear the Spotlight transports players back to the PS1 era of horror survival games. It's filled with clever puzzles that challenge players and forces them to think outside the box. The second part of the game in Vivian's Story takes place in the Webber Building. However, after making your way past the first section of the game and arriving in front of the door to the facility, you'll find it filled with smoke.
To proceed, you'll need to clear out the smoke, which requires solving an elaborate puzzle involving a fuse box. While the puzzle can seem tricky at first, the pieces will start falling into place once you get started. For those struggling, here's a complete guide to solving the Fuse Box Puzzle in Fear the Spotlight.
Fear the Spotlight is a creepy survival-horror game that serves as a fun throwback to the genre's heyday.
After making your way through the Rose Door, you'll arrive at the School Courtyard. The door to Webber Building will be right ahead, but interacting with the door tells you that you'll need to clear out the smoke inside the building before you can head in.
You'll find an HVAC unit on one side, but it's not powered. There's another door in the courtyard that leads to the Gymnasium. Go inside and head to the door marked Mechanical on the far left of the gym. You'll find a Power Diverter once you go inside, but you can't use it yet. Head down the stairs, and you'll arrive at the Fuse Box.
When you interact with the Fuse Box, you'll see that the door is locked. So, the first step to solving the puzzle is to unlock it. There are six symbols that you can click on, and a note on the left shows you the password: 3451.
There's a table on the left of the Fuse Box with the Fuse B item. Pick it up and interact with the note marked Coupled Attenuations on the Board. You'll see how the numbers relate to the different symbols marked on the Fuse Box. This is your main clue to unlocking the Fuse Box. Head back to the Fuse Box and click on the Symbols that match the numbers in the password to open it.
After unlocking it, you'll see a screen, a yellow multimeter dial, and two wires on the left section, along with six slots to insert the wires. On the right side, you'll find nine closed panels.
After opening the Fuse Boxes, move the Red and Black wires to the first set of slots. This will light up the panel on the top left and allow you to open it. Lift it, and you'll see that there's a Fuse missing. Place the Fuse B you picked up earlier in the empty slot to light up the next panel.
Move back to the left section of the Fuse Box and rotate the multimeter dial until the screen at the top lights up green. If you did everything correctly, the indicator at the top screen should be at 4, and the dial should be at x100 on the gray side.
Head back to the second panel on the right section and lift the cover. You'll see two dials and a slider at the bottom. Set the left dial to 4, as shown on the top screen on the left, and the right dial to 00. Set the slider to the left, and this will unlock the last panel in the row. Lift the cover and pull down the lever to open the shutters in the storage room and bathrooms.
Now that you can access the Storage Room and the Bathrooms, return to the main Gymnasium hall. The shutter leading to the Bathrooms is malfunctioning, but you can get inside the Storage Room. Inside the Storage, you'll see a locked cabinet on your left. You'll need the Cabinet Keys to open it.
Move forward and crouch under the table to pick up the Flashlight. There's a vent just ahead that you can unscrew using the Screwdriver in your inventory. Go through the opening to get into the Girl's Bathroom.
You'll see someone inside the Bathroom Stall on the right, but you can't get into it just yet. As you walk towards the exit, the Bathroom Stall will open. Go back to it and pick up the Cabinet Keys. Head out of the Bathroom using the main door. You'll now arrive at the other side of the malfunctioning shutters. Go into the Boy's Bathroom next.
Use the lever on the right side to lift the shutters and unlock the shortcut back to the main hall.
Head towards the urinal and interact with the middle one. Vivian will say she sees something at the bottom but won't reach for it until you flush the black sludge. Interact with the flush and pick up the Fuse C. Now go back to the locked cabinet that you saw in the Storage Room earlier, use the Cabinet Keys to open it, and pick up Fuse D.
After picking up the new set of fuses, you'll need to make your way back to the Fuse Box. But lo and behold, the Spotlight Head is back and is walking around the Gymnasium's main hall looking for you. Use the covers in the hall to get back to Mechanical.
Set the Red and Black wires to the second set of slots in the Fuse Box and lift up the first Panel in the second row. Place Fuse C and D in the two slots and open the next panel. On the left screen, set the dial to x10 facing downward and note that the indicator on the top screen reads 8.
On the second panel in the second row, set the left dial to 8 and the right dial to 0. Move the slider to the right, and the third panel will unlock. Lift it up and use the lever to open the shutters in the Pool and Office areas.
Head back out of Mechanical and carefully avoid the Spotlight Head to get inside the Pool area. Move through the rubble and arrive at the pool to see that it's filled with the same black sludge you saw back at the urinal. You'll have to find a way to drain it. Head towards the ladder that leads into the pool and open it so that you can access it later.
Go inside the Pool Office and answer the phone. After the phone conversation, interact with the yellow sticky note on the computer screen to read it. It's a clue to the password you'll need shortly. There's another locked Storage Cabinet in the room. Open it using the Cabinet Keys in your inventory to grab the Fuse E. Note the locked safe on the corner of the office below the window.
Now interact with the Trophy Shelf and check the different trophies. You'll notice that both the girls' and boys' teams won gold in 1987. This is the password for the safe in the office. Go back to the safe and input the code to open it. Pick up the Pool Pump handle.
Walk out of the office and head left towards the stairs. Before you go up the stairs, use the lever to lift the grate and unlock the shortcut back to the main hall. Now, take the stairs up to the stands and head to the Pool Drain Pump control panel. Use the Pool Pump Handle on the slot and turn it all the way right. Click on the switches as they start blinking to drain the pool.
Now, head back to the pool ladder you found earlier and use it to go down. At the bottom, you'll see a table where you'll find another note from your Secret Admirer. There's also a drain pipe here where you'll find the Raffle Crank. Head back out using the ladder. Avoid the Spotlight Head that's now in the swimming pool area and make your way back to the main hall.
In the main hall of the Gymnasium, interact with the Tumbler on the stage and use the Raffle Crank. Rotate it counter-clockwise, and the Fuse F will roll out.
Give the Tumbler a few more spins to unlock an extra achievement in Fear the Spotlight.
Now that you have both Fuse E and F in your inventory, head back to the Fuse Box. Switch the wires to the bottom slot and place the fuses inside the first panel. Set the dial to X1 on the red side.
On the second panel, set the left dial to 1 and the right dial to dot and move the slider right. Open the last panel and use the lever.
With that, you've solved the Fuse Box puzzle and can now use the Power Diverter in Mechanical to transfer power to the HVAC unit outside the Webber Building. As you exit the gym, you'll see many elusive specters in the main hall. Don't worry; they won't attack you. Just walk out the door and head to the HVAC unit to arrive in front of the Theater in Fear the Spotlight.
